"I love you" Biscuits

I am a bit cynical when it comes to Valentine’s Day. Yes, I am indeed single, but that is not the reason why! I have always been of the belief that if you truly love somebody, then little gestures often will far supersede any large gesture organised on a commercialised day where it is expected of you! If you would like to show your love for someone on Valentine’s Day, then that’s great, but do not do it because it is expected of you and do it because you want to show your loved one just how much you love them!

I am a big believer in the saying “It’s the thought that counts!” Please do not assume that I am a tightwad as a result of this, but I am genuine when I say that in my experience, girls honestly appreciate the effort you go to just as much, if not more, when you have gone the extra mile to make them feel special!

So why not make this simple recipe to help you impress your loved one? It doesn’t have to be for Valentine’s Day either, just make them when you want to show that special someone is worth the effort!

It is a recipe based on shortbread biscuits, and it is quite difficult to mess up! If you want to be cheesy in showing your affection, you can even cut them out into love heart shapes like I have shown in my picture! If they are really worth it, go the extra mile and decorate them too! My decoration is Eton Mess flavour and will just add that special touch that will stand out!

However, if you are single this Valentine’s Day, just make them for yourself and enjoy with a nice hot cup of tea, whilst watching “Take Me Out” on the TV! “Let the Biscuits, see the Tea!” as I am sure Paddy would say!
